Manchester United starlet to remain at Old Trafford

Striker Federico Macheda is expected to play a more significant role in the Manchester United first team next season, according to his agent.

Representative Giuseppe Bia has dismissed reports in Italy that the 17-year-old starlet could be loaned out to a Serie A side in a bid to continue his education.

Macheda made a stunning arrival on the first-team scene at Old Trafford with winning goals against Aston Villa and Sunderland in United's march towards a third straight Premier League title this season.

And Bia has denied reports that United could look to send Macheda back to Italy on loan, much like they did with former striker Giuseppe Rossi.

"I do not think there is scope for a loan move in the summer to Sampdoria or Parma," he said.

"Manchester is a large club and has plans for him.

"I do not forsee another deal similar to that of when Rossi came to Italy."
